WE Live Here. Better Know BATESVILLE.

Government & Civic Resources

Voting & Elections.

Everything a Batesville resident needs to participate — registration, polling places, ballots, dates, results, and who holds office — in one place, from official sources. Batesville spans Ripley and Franklin counties, so your ballot and polling place depend on your address: the official state voter portal is the source for anything personal.

BetterKnow never asks you for voter information. No registration numbers, birth dates, ID documents, or party preferences — here or anywhere on this site. Personalized lookups happen on the state's official portal, not here.

Batesville votes in two counties

Part of Batesville is in Ripley County, part in Franklin County. Your precinct, polling place, and ballot depend on your address — never assume a neighbor's ballot is yours.

Ripley County

Ripley County uses vote centers: any registered Ripley County voter may vote at any vote center in the county on Election Day. The county's 2026 general-election vote-center list was not published on the county site as of October 24, 2026 — use the voter portal lookup or call the election office. Election email not published on the county site.

Enter your address on the official voter portal — it returns your precinct, your polling location, and your ballot. BetterKnow does not publish a polling-place list, because a wrong list is worse than a lookup.

What's on the ballot

Candidate lists and ballot questions appear here only once election authorities publish them — never early, never from a campaign.

Public Question #1 (bail). Shall the Constitution of the State of Indiana be amended to provide that a person charged with an offense other than murder or treason is not entitled to bail if: (1) the proof is evident or the presumption strong; and (2) the state proves by clear and convincing evidence that no release conditions will reasonably protect the safety of any other person or the community. (This question concerns Article 1, Section 17 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana.) — Vote YES or NO.

Public Question #2 (city/town court judge residency). Shall the Constitution of the State of Indiana be amended to permit the judge of a city or town court to reside in: (1) the county in which the court is located; or (2) the bordering county closest to the city or town in which the court is located? (This question concerns Article 6, Section 6 of the Constitution of the State of Indiana.) — Vote YES or NO.

Official candidate lists for the November 3, 2026 general election are published by the Indiana Election Division, but the full list for Batesville's races was not extracted in our October 24 check — use the voter portal's Who's on My Ballot lookup for your exact ballot. Whether any Batesville school board seats are on the 2026 ballot is confirmed only through that lookup. No local Batesville ballot questions were found in official sources in this check; your address-specific lookup is the final word.
